Izel Khan is an award‑winning journalist and media entrepreneur with over 15 years of experience in international reporting. Before founding New York Times News, she served as a foreign correspondent covering political transitions in South Asia and later as editorial director for a leading digital publication. Her work has been recognized for its nuanced storytelling and commitment to uncovering systemic issues.

Izel holds a Master’s degree in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics and is a frequent speaker on media ethics and the future of independent journalism. Under her leadership, our newsroom has grown into a vibrant collective of writers who share her passion for truth and empathy. When she isn’t editing or chasing stories, Izel can be found mentoring young journalists or hiking in the Hudson Valley.
